My Life as a Web Developer
Finding My Path to Web Development
My love for web development started around 12 years ago. I remember coding my first website. It used
<frame> all over the place, but I was thrilled to see my creation come to life on the screen. That’s when I knew this was the path for me. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working on hundreds of projects, mostly WordPress-based, helping businesses and individuals establish their online presence. I love seeing a client’s vision transform into a live, interactive experience.
A Gamer at Heart
When I’m not developing websites or learning new coding languages, you’ll probably find me unwinding with a video game like Call of Duty or Dark Souls. It’s not just about the fun of gameplay for me; I’m also fascinated by the way games are designed and developed. It inspires me to be more creative and innovative in my own work.
Sharing the Knowledge: My YouTube Journey
I believe that knowledge is best when shared, and that’s why I started creating tutorials on YouTube about WordPress (WPCasts). It’s my way of giving back to the community that helped me learn so much. Plus, it’s a great way to connect with other developers and learn from their experiences too.
Family, Camping, and Smoked Meat: The Perfect Combo
Away from my computer, my favorite place to be is outdoors, preferably around a campfire with my family. There’s something incredibly refreshing about swapping the sound of keyboard clicks for the chirping of birds and crackling of fire.
And what’s a camping trip without some good food? I have a passion for smoking meat. Whether it’s a rack of ribs or a whole chicken, the process is almost therapeutic for me. Plus, the end result is always worth the wait!
So there you have it, a little insight into my life as Alex Young, the web developer who loves to code, game, teach, and cook. Each day is a balance between professional growth and personal enjoyment. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Until next time, keep coding, gaming, and enjoying life!
